Cumulative Updates released for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2013

Microsoft has just released the Exchange Server 2013 Cumulative Update 13 and the Exchange Server 2016 Cumulative Update 2.
These updates include both normal fixes to customer reported issues and updated functionality.

Added functionality and fixes:

  • .Net 4.6.1 Support
  • AutoReseed Support for BitLocker
  • SHA-2 Support for Self-Signed Certificates
  • Migration to Modern Public Folder Resolved (KB3161916)
  • Change to Get-ExchangeServer Cmdlet
  • Installing from a Mounted .ISO Displays English UI Only

Note, that the Exchange Server 2016 Cumulative Update 2 include updates to the Active Directory schema, which will automatically be applied during the setup – provided that the installation account is member of the Schema Admins group in Active Directory.
The Exchange Server 2013 Cumulative Update 13 does not include any updates to the Active Directory schema.

Organizations with an Office 365 Hybrid configuration enabled, and where Exchange Online Archiving (EOA) is used with the on-premises Exchange deployment, must deploy either the most current or the prior Cumulative Update release – for Exchange 2013; CU13 or CU12, and for Exchange 2016; CU1 or CU2.

Both the Exchange Server 2016 Cumulative Update 2 and Exchange Server 2013 Cumulative Update 13 are available from the Microsoft Download Center.
