DirSync and Azure AD Sync tools approaching end of support

As announced by Microsoft a while ago, the DirSync and Azure AD Sync tools has been deprecated and support of both products is expiring.

The announced time is approaching, and both DirSync and Azure AD Sync will reach End of Support on 13. April 2017.

DirSync and Azure AD Sync have been replaced by Azure AD Connect, which offers new functionality, feature enhancements, and support for most synchronization scenarios. To be able to continue the synchronization of on-premises identity data to Azure AD and Office 365, organizations are strongly recommend to upgrade their directory synchronization solution to Azure AD Connect.

As mentioned in my previous post of the original announcement, the upgrade process from either DirSync or Azure AD Sync to Azure AD Connect is quite straightforward. Still, follow the upgrade steps here:

The general life-cycle interval in Microsoft Cloud Services is 12 months, which also includes the approximate monthly updates for the Azure AD Connect solution and the regular updates for Office 365 ProPlus.

New versions of Azure AD Connect are published here.
